PRZEMYŚL BEARS

Back in the days Przemyśl was a city of basketball. Almost every citizen lived with the successes of Polonia Przemyśl team in the 1990s. The vice-championship of Poland, games in European competitions or a fierce battle to stay in the league elite were remembered with great sentiment.
Wishing to bring back basketball traditions to the fans and the city, the Hensfort brand decided to sponsor a basketball team with a development plan different than the other teams. As a result, since 2007, we are the main sponsor of the HENSFORT Bears team in Przemyśl.
The initiator of the team's project and its coach is Daniel Puchalski, a former professional basketball player, with several years of experience on the courts of the Polish Premier League, bronze medalist of the Polish championship in 1996 and Polish All-Star Game participant.
In 2007, Mr. Puchalski  decided to test almost 1,000 pre-school children in terms of their physical development capabilities. On the basis of this  results, 24 boys were selected and formed a school class focused on  basketball. After 10 years, fans can again chant the names of their favourite players, but this time not players bought from other clubs, but only pupils from Przemyśl and the surrounding area. It has created  a phenomenal bond between the team and the local community.
 
 
Over the past 10 years the Bears have  participated in many tournaments in Poland and abroad. 1st place at the prestigious Kaunus Cup tournament in Kaunas, victory at the Eger Cup in Hungary and silver medal at the youth championship of Poland in Radom U-16 just to mention few. In 2018, the team won their title greatest trophy and became  Junior Champions of Poland
Currently, the oldest group of the HENSFORT Bears is playing in the second basketball league division and are widely recognizable in Poland.
